SONATINA Written in 1994 and dedicated to his daughter Susana, was conceived on the basis of his teaching experience in order to help the technical progress of students. It is made up of four movements. the composer starts the work with a clear allusion to the sonata for violin written by Prokofiev in 1947. SONATINA The Sonatina by Jordi Cervello is a wonderful addition to the solo violin repertory. Its four movements form a truly unified and inspired light minute work. Cervello has imbued his Sonatina with some unique techniques which are both a challenge to the performer and completely violinistic. The Sonatina has been received enthusiastically by audiences.
