This album contains 36 compositions, arranged chronologically, so that the first volume is devoted to the works of youth. His vast work of 211 songs is now available in an unpublished critical edition, organized into six volumes , made from a thorough review in autograph manuscripts and first editions. The review, based on rigorous musicological criteria , was taken by pianists Alexandre Dias and Sara Cohen , experts in the work of Ernesto Nazareth , and have done much to preserve his memory. All editorial changes were explained in critical notes at the end of each volume , indicating that the measure was amended , and including a musicological explanation for the change. It is known that edits scores of Ernesto Nazareth and other Brazilian composers contain a significant number of historical errors editorial. Our project aims to provide a highly reliable edition of his works for musicians and researchers around the world. The musicological principles for the revision are explained in detailed introductory notes.
