Under the Influence is an up-tempo "burning" swing tune and was originally commissioned by the TCU Jazz Band under the direction. and "influence". of Curtis Wilson. The opening main theme features the brass section in a "psuedo - acapella" brass chorale and focuses on some tight harmonic voicings, therefore precise intonation and rhythmic timing should be emphasized.
