The theme was written by Italian composer Ennio Morricone, and has since been arranged and performed several times by many artists. The score from the film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score and earned Morricone the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score. This is the most original and uplifting arrangement available of this well known movie theme for advanced band, and in Morricone's original key of D major.
