The Sonata In A Major is one of Franck's best-known works. Originally for Violin, it was composed as a wedding present for the famous Belgian Violinist Eugene Ysaÿe, who performed it at his matrimonial celebrations on September 26, 1886. It is set in this edition for Cello and Piano accompaniment and has been selected for the ABRSM Grade 8 Cello Syllabus.
